Matthew Sulzmann (sax)

Matthew is a saxophonist/composer based in London. Since graduating from the Royal Academy of Music in 2015, Matthew has performed in many of London’s top jazz venues, including: The Vortex, The 606 Club, Pizza Express Soho, the Green Note, and Spice of Life. In addition to running his own quintet, Matthew is a member of Neon Orchestra, James Brady’s “Voyagers”, Dom Ingham Sextet, and the Kelvin Christiane Big Band. In 2016-17 Matthew recorded and toured with Brentwood’s own Becca Toft, for her project “Searching”.

As an educator, Matthew has lead the Ronnie Scott’s Big Band In A Day workshop, and tutors regularly for Jazz Rehearsals London. He has also worked on the Mehr Clef and NYJOS summer schools, and completed the NYJC Jazz Ambassadors training. Matthew holds teaching posts at Brentwood School (where he tutors jazz privately and in ensembles), and at Abercorn School (as the woodwind specialist).
